Gospel Truths is a sing-a-longa-pray-a-longa, happy-clappy ecumenical expedition into faith, spirituality and belief-systems: from Satanism to Scientology – and Mama’s own positivity Gospel too.
This pseudo-service features vigorous congregation-participation, at least one gameshow, laughter, words and songs from her current gospel, soul and funk album On The Ragtime.
Plus, the Heavenly Jukebox will be playing vintage gospel sounds – if you grace the collection plate, that is.

Mama Tokus: Gospel Truths is part of the Flourish Season at the Barbican: bringing together an amazing mix of dance, theatre , film, music and spoken word. It gives audiences the opportunity to sample a wide variety of live performance all in one of Plymouth’s most ambitious and progressive arts organisations.
Flourish aims to network and grow the creative pool of new and emerging artists and it is designed to nurture experiment, innovation and collaboration so that artists are better equipped to create performances of the highest quality.
